BIOFarm would be very proud to be the first organic farm registed with WWOOF China. BIOFarm which stictly following China organic certification standarnd and was certified organic sine 2007. We produce 300s varieties of organic vegetables, seaonsal fruits, edible flowers, sprouts and poutry eggs in a year. BIOFarm was recognized by CNN as the most reliable farm where Shanghai residents don't need to worry about pesticides. The Shanghai City Hall awarded BIOFarm as one-in-a-kind organic vegetable suppliers during 2010 Expo. We welcome one who would like to make a change for the better world, to learn organic farming, to share food cultures , and to experience organic life in China.
BIOFarm actively promotes “grow local”, “buy local”. Under the research cooperation with The Organic Agriculture and Organic Food Institute of Nanjing Agricultural University, BIOFarm has been challenging local climates, soil and water, to grow non-local new types and varieties. Seeds were kept by farm to establish the first organic seedbank in China, and nearly 20 types that are fit for local sustainable growing have been collected and the genetic diversity of vegetables that are native to China has been well preserved. At present, farm-kept organic seeds are only provided for schools to support On-Campus Organic Garden activities. BIOFarm has especially allocated a piece of land as exclusively non-profit seedling supply base for UN’s sustainable treeplanting activity “Stand Up & Take Action”, to help with environmental protection.
